La pandemia ha svuotato le strade, e la città è stata restituita ai suoi legittimi proprietari. Mentre le persone ordinarie dormivano, gli istigatori della notte si sono ripresi ciò che gli spettava. La notte ha le sue regole, devi conoscere ogni angolo ed ogni ingresso, guadagnarti il rispetto nel quartiere e la consapevolezza negli affari. La città mostra la sua vera identità la notte, quella faccia spaventosa per tanti. Per le persone ai margini è l’unico momento per uscire e vivere la strada, in una cornice di throw-up, perdizione ed attività illecite.
Lanciamo un open-call per fotografi, dove invitiamo ciascuno di voi a condividere il vostro ritratto della città mentre tutti gli altri dormono. Vogliamo vedere la notte attraverso i tuoi occhi e le tue lenti, per collezionare una documentazione di com’è la vita mentre nessuno guarda. No filtri, no inibizioni o senso del decoro.
Technicals:
Per partecipare al contest, sottoponi fino a tre scatti, da consegnare in formato .jpg in risoluzione 72 dpi. Deadline 21 Novembre 2021.
Contest:
Le tue foto saranno giudicate da una giuria selezionata di agitatori della notte, connoisseur della strada e street photographers.
Evento / Fanzine:
Le foto che supereranno la selezione saranno incluse in una zine edita da USUAL, presentata con una mostra a Milano a dicembre.

Amid the pandemic the streets were empty, the city has been given back to their legitimate owner. While the ordinary people rested, the agitators of the night had taken over their domain. The night has its own rules based on the knowledge of every corner and every back door, the respect you gain in your hood and the wisdom in the business. During the night the city shows its own self, a scary face many are afraid of. For the people on the margins is the only time to step out and experience the streets, in a backdrop of throw-ups, perdition and illegal activities.
We launch an open-call contest for photographers, where we invite each of you to share with us your portraits of the city while everyone is sleeping. We wanna see the night through your eyes and your lenses, to collect documentation of how life looks like when no one is watching. No filters, no inhibition, or sense of decorum.
Technicals:
In order to participate to the contest, please submit up to three shots, to be delivered in .jpg format, 72dpi in resolution. Deadline 21st Novembre 2021.
Contest:
Your pictures will be rated from a selected jury of night agitators, street wises and street photographers.
Event / Zine:
The pictures which will make the cut are going to be included into a zine published by usual, launched with an exhibition in Milan in December.
